As a contributing employer, you've agreed to cover your freelance employees, but you may also have opted to cover your staff employees. There is no difference when it comes to the quality of benefits that you're providing to your employees, although there are slight differences in your benefit options.
Under the Staff plan, employers may opt to offer a “medical-only” benefit option or a “medical, including dental and vision” benefit option to their staff employees. Freelancers are only offered the “medical, including dental and vision” benefit option.
Under the Staff plan, employers pay their staff contributions to PHBP, which is equal to the entire premium amount paid to Anthem. Amounts may be viewed under the “Healthcare” section, under “Premium Amounts”. The employer may request that the employee reimburse them up to 25% of the employee-only premium amount, and up to 100% of the dependent cost of coverage. Employers only pay 8% of gross earnings for their freelancer to PHBP, and it is the freelancers responsibility to pay the dependent cost of coverage.PROCEED TO YOUR ACCOUNT
